(More customer reviews)I ordered this pump the first week of June and even paid fifty bucks extra for shipping to get it in two days since we were all anxious to start swimming.The pump arrived on schedule and I had it running shortly thereafter.I noticed from the start that the pump seemed unusually loud, but since this is the largest pump I've ever used I thought it just came with the territory.Over the next few days the pump got progressively louder until day 5 or 6, when it died.

I called the retailer (Cal Splash) and it took two days to get through to them.Their representative could not have cared less about the situation and said that there was nothing that they would do other than refer me to the manufacturer, GenFoam.So, I contact GenFoam by email and explain what happened and asked for a replacement.I had to send them an additional email with a copy of my invoice attached before they would do anything.Then they tell me that the pump is on backorder and that they cannot give me a time-frame for when to expect it.They did send a rotor assembly to me to replace on the old pump to see if it would correct the problem.It didn't.

Fast-forward to late July and I still have no pump.I email the manufacturer and ask again if they can give me a time-frame for a new pump.They reply (three days later) that they should have them in 10-15 business days. So, I decided to file a complaint with Amazon, and their helpful representative filed an A to Z complaint on my behalf.After I supplied some additional follow-up information this week, Amazon notified me by email this morning that they were refunding the purchase price AND the shipping cost.I amvery thankful that I purchased this through Amazon.I know that if I had purchased directly from the retailer I would have had no other recourse.Thank You Amazon.com
